Professor Melinda Mills is a demographer that fuses multiple types of data including digital, molecular genetic, health and administrative records and surveys, to generate a new understanding of the social and biological aspects underpinning complex behaviour and disease. She is Director of the Leverhulme Centre for Demographic Science located at Nuffield College and the Department of Sociology.

Sociogenomics, demography, inequality, reproductive behaviour and fertility, chronotypes, advanced modelling, statistical genetic data analysis.
What are you working on right now?
Mills is working on multiple COVID-19 projects including how the demographic composition of populations impacts testing, infection and mortality, social network science approaches to easing lockdown measures and socioeconomic, sex, geospatial and population density inequalities in relation to COVID-19.
